APU participation in the Doha meeting on counter-terrorism
A delegation of the African Parliamentary Union (APU) led by its President the Honorable Mohamed Ali Houmed, President of the National Assembly of Djibouti and including Mr. IDI Gado Boubacar, APU Secretary General and Mr. Ali Amdan Abdou, Adviser of President of the National Assembly of Djibouti, took part in Doha (Qatar), on 13 December 2021, in the 1st Counter-terrorism coordinating meeting of Parliamentary Assemblies organized by the United Nations Office of Counter- terrorism. The opening session of this meeting was marked by the address of the Honorable Hassan bin Abdullah Al-Ghanim, President of the Shura Council of the State of Qatar who was delighted with the choice of his country to host this important meeting. In the speech he made on this occasion, the APU President, Honorable Mohamed Ali Houmed, welcomed the organization of this meeting which aims to set up a mechanism for coordinating the actions of the Parliamentary Assemblies involved in the fight against terrorism. He reaffirmed the APU interest attached to this issue and its availability to participate and support any initiative aimed at federating the activities of the actors in the fight against this scourge. On the sidelines of this meeting, the APU delegation was received in audience by the Honorable Hassan Abdullah Al-Ghanim, President of the Shura Council of the State of Qatar.
